About this member

Markus Niederberger studied chemistry at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, where he also received his Ph.D. in 2000. After a postdoctoral stay at
the University of California at Santa Barbara, he became group leader at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces at Potsdam in 2002. Since 2007 he is Assistant
Professor in the Department of Materials at the ETH Z:rich. His primary research interests are the development of general synthesis concepts for inorganic nanoparticles,
investigation of formation and crystallization mechanisms, and nanoparticle assembly.
